MyPace Life Appoints Dr. Betty Pun as Key Person in Financial Control Function
HONG KONG – MyPace Life Limited (“MyPace Life” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Betty Pun, the Company’s Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer, as Key Person in Financial Control Function, effective 3 June 2026 following approval by the Hong Kong Insurance Authority. The appointment reflects MyPace Life’s commitment to strong financial governance, operational discipline and long-term growth as a Hong Kong-authorized life insurer.
A Veteran Finance Leader
Dr. Pun brings more than 25 years of senior leadership experience in the life insurance and reinsurance industries across regional and group offices. She has held senior finance roles at Manulife Financial Asia Limited, notably as Vice President & Chief Accounting Officer, Asia, leading regional financial and management reporting, expense efficiency and IFRS 17 implementation across the Asia division. Earlier, she was Vice President at AIA Group Limited and held senior accounting leadership roles at Hannover Re in both Hong Kong and Germany.
Her governance experience spans board appointments across several of Manulife’s Asia subsidiaries, including operating entities in Singapore and Vietnam as well as asset management and investment-holding companies. She has also served as a Council Member of Oxfam Hong Kong and Vice Chairman of its Finance, Risk and Audit Committee.
Dr. Pun holds a Doctor of Accountancy from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and is a Fellow of both the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
Strengthening Governance at a Pivotal Moment
Dr. Pun’s appointment follows a series of milestones for MyPace Life. On 24 February 2026, the Company received its full Certificate of Authorization from the Hong Kong Insurance Authority to carry on long-term insurance business in Hong Kong, and subsequently completed the Section 24 portfolio transfer of the Hong Kong long-term insurance businesses of The Canada Life Assurance Company and Canada Life Limited on 1 March 2026.
With Dr. Pun’s appointment, MyPace Life is well positioned to maintain the high standards of financial governance expected of a Hong Kong-authorized life insurer as the Company continues to scale.
