MyPace Life Limited Completes Section 24 Portfolio Transfer from The Canada Life Assurance Company and Canada Life Limited

Important Notice: Hong Kong Portfolio Transfer

MyPace Life Limited (“MyPace Life” or “the Company”) has successfully completed the transfer of the Hong Kong long-term insurance businesses of The Canada Life Assurance Company (“CLA”) and Canada Life Limited (“CLL”), with effect from 1 March 2026.

The portfolio transfer was conducted pursuant to Section 24 of the Insurance Ordinance (Cap. 41) and was sanctioned by the Court of First Instance of the High Court of Hong Kong on 13 February 2026. Under the sanctioned Scheme of Transfer, MyPace Life has assumed insurance liabilities and policy obligations previously held by CLA and CLL in respect of the transferred Hong Kong long-term insurance policies.

Policyholder Protection and Continuity

All policyholders can be assured that:

  • No action is required – The transfer has been completed automatically
  • All coverage remains unchanged – Policy terms, benefits, and coverage continue exactly as before
  • Full regulatory protection continues – Policies remain governed by Hong Kong’s insurance regulatory framework and supervised by the Hong Kong Insurance Authority
  • All policyholder rights are preserved – Every entitlement under your policy remains in full effect

MyPace Life is now responsible for all policy administration, customer service, claims processing, and meeting all contractual obligations to policyholders. The Company operates as a fully authorized Hong Kong insurer under the complete supervision of the Hong Kong Insurance Authority.

MyPace Life Limited Receives Full Authorization from Hong Kong Insurance Authority

Important Notice: Hong Kong Authorization

MyPace Life Limited (“MyPace Life” or “the Company”) has received full authorization from the Hong Kong Insurance Authority (“HKIA”) to carry on long-term insurance business in Hong Kong.

The Company received its Certificate of Authorization from the HKIA on 24 February 2026, following approval-in-principle granted also by the HKIA on 25 August 2025. MyPace Life is authorized under Section 8 of the Insurance Ordinance (Cap. 41) to carry on the following classes of long-term insurance business:

  • Class A: Life and annuity
  • Class C: Linked long term
  • Class D: Permanent health
  • Class G: Retirement scheme management category I
  • Class H: Retirement scheme management category II
  • Class I: Retirement scheme management category III

What this means for Policyholders

As a fully authorized insurer, MyPace Life operates under the complete supervision and regulatory oversight of the Hong Kong Insurance Authority. All policies under our management are protected by Hong Kong’s insurance regulatory framework, which includes:

  • Strict capital adequacy requirements
  • Regular financial and operational supervision by the HKIA
  • Compliance with all Hong Kong insurance laws and regulations

MyPace Life Commences Third-Party Administration Services for Desjardins Financial Security Life Assurance Company’s Hong Kong Policies

Important Notice: Hong Kong Third-Party Administration

MyPace Life Limited (“MyPace Life” or “the Company”) has commenced its role as Third-Party Administrator (“TPA”) for Hong Kong long-term insurance policies of Desjardins Financial Security Life Assurance Company (“DFS”), with effect from 1 January 2026.

Under the administration agreement, MyPace Life handles policy servicing, customer inquiries, transaction processing, claims support, and day-to-day operational matters for Desjardins’ Hong Kong policies, while Desjardins remains the insurer responsible for all insurance obligations.

What Policyholders need to know

The arrangement operates under Hong Kong’s regulatory requirements, with services provided in accordance with applicable insurance regulations and supervisory standards. Policyholders can be assured that:

  • No action is required – The service transition has occurred automatically
  • Your insurer remains Desjardins – Desjardins continues to hold all insurance liabilities and obligations under your policy
  • No changes to your coverage – All policy terms, benefits, and coverage remain exactly the same
  • New service contact – For policy inquiries and transactions, policyholders should now contact MyPace Life

Important Update: 01 March 2026

The proposed transfer of the Hong Kong long-term insurance businesses of The Canada Life Assurance Company (“CLA”) and Canada Life Limited (“CLL”) to MyPace Life Limited (“MPL”) has happened on 1 March 2026.

The Scheme was considered and sanctioned in the substantive hearing of the Petition in the Hong Kong Court on 13 February 2026. The transfer contemplated under the Scheme has proceeded in accordance with the court order.
